LAWRENCE HAMILTON APPOINTED MANAGING DIRECTOR AT GENESIS MOTOR EUROPE

FRANKFURT, Germany, Aug. 26, 2022Genesis has announced the appointment of Lawrence Hamilton as its Managing Director at Genesis Motor Europe, effective September 1, 2022. The appointment follows Dominique Boesch’s decision to leave the company to pursue a new business opportunity.

Hamilton has been active in the auto sector for almost three decades, and has spent a combined total of 16 years with Hyundai Motor Group. He brings a breadth of international, well-rounded experience in the areas of regional management, business operations, and marketing. Hamilton’s tenure with the Group began in 2004 at Kia Motors UK, with progressive roles in marketing communications. He then worked with Abdul Latif Jameel for the Toyota brand in Saudi Arabia as Director of Marketing Communications. In 2015, Hamilton returned to Hyundai Motor Group to lead Hyundai Auto Canada’s Marketing division. In 2021, he was appointed Executive Director of Genesis Motors Canada.

He added, “We have a strong platform in Europe, we will continue developing the business as we begin our next stage of growth.”

In Europe, Genesis has established itself in three countries, Germany, Switzerland and the UK, since launching in May 2021. Seven models, including a vehicle designed with European customers in mind, and three new all-electric models, have started sales in under 14 months.

Jaehoon (Jay) Chang, the global head of Genesis, commented, “With his long-time experience in the auto industry, Lawrence will be able to leverage the great potential of the Genesis brand and story as we transition into becoming a leader in the era of electrification and delivering truly differentiated customer experiences.”

Genesis will continue to build the luxury brand’s presence, growing its customer base with additional resources to develop and bolster its movement in the region. Genesis will open a number of new studios in European cities by the end of 2022.
