2023 HIGHLIGHTS INFOGRAPHIC

Taking Luxury Horsepower to White Turf

Genesis returned to St. Mortiz as one of the two main sponsors of the annual White Turf horse racing competition. Guests indulged in a menu tailored by Korean chef, and Genesis Ambassador, Mun Kim and Swiss Partner Chef Dominik Hartmann in the Event Village. Over 38,000 spectators graced the banks of the infamous racetrack with the event later honoured as a ‘Swiss Top Events’, a seal of quality awarded to eight world-famous cultural and sports events that convey an open and innovative image of Switzerland.

Putting the Genesis Electric Range to the Test

Taking place in Berlin, Genesis hosted a Pan-European test drive where the spotlight was on its electric models – GV60, Electrified GV70 and Electrified G80 – and their impressive capabilities. The event showcased all three electric cars in the Genesis line-up, offering the opportunity to test the cars in different terrains and several driving exercises. This served not only as a platform to continue showcasing the brand's commitment to sustainable mobility, but also to experience model year updates for GV60 and Electrified G80.

Pioneering the Technological Revolution

The new technology introduced in 2023 redefined the driving experience for customers. The 2023 model year update for GV60 saw the world’s first application of facial recognition technology in the automotive industry with the implementation of Face Connect, a feature that allows for keyless access to the car through facial recognition. The introduction of Plug & Charge simplified electric car ownership, enabling automatic authentication and payment t compatible charging stations, while the addition of Digital Key 2 elevated the digital access experience, allowing users to unlock and start their cars seamlessly. These innovations collectively represent Genesis' commitment to delivering unparalleled convenience, security, and personalisation, solidifying its position as a leader in shaping the future of mobility.

The Launch of G90 in Europe

Genesis’ flagship saloon, G90, was revealed in Europe at Goodwood Festival of Speed with the brand announcing its arrival into the market during the four-day automotive garden party. G90 was then officially launched at an event at the Genesis Studio in Zürich with over 100 media and guests in attendance. This was followed by a static display at the Genesis Studio Zürich and at the Auto Zürich Motor Show, as well as a successful European Test Drive Event in Faro, Portugal.

As the pinnacle of the Genesis line-up, G90 represents the culmination of cutting-edge design, advanced technology, and an unparalleled commitment to hospitality. The debut of the G90 showcased Genesis' most impressive design yet, embodying a perfect blend of sophistication and innovation. With meticulous attention to detail, the G90 not only delivers a superior driving experience but also sets new standards for luxury by incorporating advanced technologies and a hospitality-focused approach, solidifying Genesis’ position on the automotive European market.

Goodwood Festival of Speed

Genesis debuted three cars at the world’s fastest garden party – G90, GV80 Coupe and Genesis X Convertible, the third of Genesis’ Concept Trilogy of electric design studies that showcase the brand's commitment to a future of sustainable luxury. Over the course of the four days, Genesis embraced the essence of son-nim hospitality for festival goers and media alike, demonstrating the new Face Connect technology of GV60 as well as many other technological innovations across the Genesis line-up.

Celebrating the brand’s third year as an official partner of the festival, Genesis took on the challenge of the Goodwood Hillclimb at night. With the silent electric power of GV60 in the very capable hands of ADAC GT 4 Germany  driver Patricijia Stalidzane, Genesis became the first to complete a night-time run of the hillclimb in the lead up to the event.

Genesis Scottish Open

Genesis continued its title sponsorship of the renowned Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland.  The international golf tournament attracted over 72,000 fans to the final day upon which Rory McIlroy stormed to victory, taking home an Electrified GV70 and his Caddie a GV60. Spectators had the opportunity to test-drive the full range, admire the newly debuted Genesis G90 and enjoy the luxurious hospitality Genesis had on offer.

Business Expansion in Europe

Genesis announced plans to expand in the UK and Germany to significantly increase brand presence and reach even more customers. In July, seven new UK retail partners and seven new German retail partners were appointed during a signing, coinciding with the opening of the Edinburgh Studio. This event marked a strategic move for Genesis, solidifying its commitment to customers in both regions. Sharing the brand’s bold future electric vision, the newly appointed retail partners will become operational during 2024.

Unveiling of GV80 & GV80 Coupé

The newly redesigned Genesis GV80 and the brand’s first coupé - GV80 Coupé - debuted at Genesis Suji in Korea. Both cars were also displayed at a private event ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show. The enhanced GV80 received its first model change in over three years, with fresh design upgrades such as the Two-Line Crest Grille and slim MLA headlamps. Demonstrating Genesis’ first foray into the coupé space, the design of GV80 Coupé struck a noble balance between bold athleticism and sleek elegance with its Parabolic Line and double-layered Crest Grille.

Gran Turismo World Finals

In December 2023, Genesis unveiled a full-scale model at the Gran Turismo World Series World finals in Barcelona. The Gran Turismo World Series stands as a global championship accessible to players worldwide, offering an opportunity to put their skills to the test and participate in in head-to-head races. The best players receive an invite to partake in the prestigious World Series events, a series of competitions that serve as a gateway to the ultimate showdown: the World Finals.
