- Genesis X Skorpio Concept and Genesis Magma GT Concept named winners in the Cars and Motorcycles category for Concept Cars
- Coveted seal of quality from one of the world’s top design accolades recognises Genesis' world-class design competitiveness on the global stage
Frankfurt, Germany, 14 July 2026: Genesis has taken home two wins for its X Skorpio Concept and Magma GT Concept in the Cars and Motorcycles category in the Design Concept discipline at the 2026 Red Dot Awards. The double recognition once again proves the innovative luxury marque’s world-class design competitiveness against globally established legacy luxury brands.
This marks Genesis’ third Red Dot Award this year, after securing an earlier win in the same category with its first luxury high performance car, GV60 Magma.
Genesis X Skorpio Concept: Fearless Exploration Meets Extreme Off-Roading
Revealed globally earlier this year in the Rub’ al Khali “Empty Quarter” desert in the UAE, the X Skorpio Concept is Genesis' first extreme off-road vehicle. Inspired by the poised stance of a black scorpion, the concept is purpose-built to conquer demanding terrains without sacrificing the brand's luxurious identity.
The vehicle pushes the boundaries of off-road capability, featuring an integrated tubular frame with a full roll cage, and a body constructed from a lightweight, durable mix of fibreglass, carbon-fibre, and Kevlar. It is powered by a high-performance V8 engine delivering 1,115 PS (1,100 horsepower) and 117.6 kilogram-force metres (850 pound-feet of torque), grounded by 40-inch custom off-road tyres on 18-inch beadlock wheels. The exterior pairs defensive, armour-like panels inspired by its namesake with Genesis’ signature Two-Line design, while the cabin redefines off-road luxury with ergonomic performance seating and a unique sliding cockpit display that adapts to both solo and co-pilot off-road navigation.
Genesis Magma GT Concept: A New Era of Luxury High Performance
Unveiled in its evolved form at the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Genesis Magma GT Concept represents the pinnacle of the brand’s high-performance ambitions and a clear vision for its next decade of motorsport-inspired luxury. Conceived as a two-passenger luxury grand tourer, the concept blends athleticism and elegance through a low-slung, race-ready silhouette, wide muscular fenders, and dynamic mid-engine proportions that optimise aerodynamic efficiency.
Acting as a bridge between open-road luxury and closed-track capability, the Magma GT prioritises a tactile, driver-centric experience over purely digital interfaces. This philosophy comes to life in the twin-cockpit interior, which celebrates analogue drama through an exposed mechanical shift gate, premium materials, and an instrument cluster inspired by motorsport timekeeping. It stands as a true halo model for the brand, perfectly translating Genesis' "Athletic Elegance" design philosophy into its high-performance Magma program.
“We feel a tremendous sense of honour to receive acknowledgment from the 2026 Red Dot Awards for these significant vehicles and innovations,” said SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Genesis Global Design. “This recognition serves as a testament to the exceptional dedication exhibited by our team of visionary designers, who poured their unwavering passion and commitment into this project, alongside our collaborative engineers at the R&D centre. It highlights the remarkable competitiveness of Genesis’ design identity within the global market.”
As one of the world's most distinguished design competitions, the Red Dot Design Award is acclaimed as a hallmark of design excellence. The Design Concept discipline honours cutting-edge and innovative design concepts and varying stages of product development each year. This year, the bold and forward-looking designs of two distinct Genesis concept cars stood out in the highly competitive Cars and Motorcycles category to take home the win.
